About Daffodils Toastmasters Club

Daffodils Toastmasters Club, is a community based club in Malleshwaram. We are a club with the right mix of experienced and young members. Our biggest testimony comes from the Executive Director of Toastmasters International, DTM Daniel Rex who termed Daffodils, “The Best Club In the World”.

The Birth of Daffodils Toastmasters Club

Daffodils was conceptualised by its charter members who were a financial consultant; a laparoscopic surgeon; an orthodontist; entrepreneurs in the software services, chemical and forestry sectors; an HR professional and a banker! Meetings of the club were consciously situated in the leafy, so-called “pensioners’ locality” of Malleshwaram in order to make the Toastmasters movement accessible to an entirely new strata of individuals. The initial meetings were admittedly sleepy and it took a while for things to take-off, but when they did….by God, there’s no looking behind!

The club secured its charter i.e. its official recognition from Toastmasters International on 12th June, 2003; and has gone from strength to strength since then.

Daffodils has the right mix of youngsters and seasoned members, making it the ideal place for learning coupled with fun. Brimming with energy and camaraderie, Daffodils is one of the oldest clubs in Distrcit 92. We take pride in ourselves because we are “More than a Club!” Three cheers to Daffodils Toastmasters!

The Club’s Mission

Creating a warm, receptive environment where one can acquire the poise and confidence to address an audience. To help each other bloom and become better people.

A Typical Meeting

A typical meeting has 30 to 50 members who meet weekly on Saturdays. There are three sessions to every meeting:

  1. Prepared Speech. Members of the club come prepared with speeches on a topic of their choice using the guidelines mentioned in their Pathways.

  2. Table Topics. Meeting participants give impromptu talks on assigned topics.

  3. Evaluation. Experienced toastmasters evaluate speakers who took stage and provide constructive feedback.

Be sure to attend the next meeting, we meet every Saturday, 5:45pm - 8:00pm at our club location.
